Alice by Heart

The musical "Alice by Heart" will be performed July 3rd - 25th at Jerusalem's Beit Maziya Theater produced by Starcatcher and the Incubator Theater.

The 2019 Off-Broadway production, with beautiful music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater (Spring Awakening) and book by Sater and Jessie Nelson (Waitress), is a unique work that deals with grief and hope in difficult times. The show centers on a young girl who copes with living through a war by escaping into the world of Lewis Carrol's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” - which she knows by heart.

The moving soundtrack includes some truly memorable songs such as "Another Room in Your Head", "Isn't it a Trial?", "Afternoon" & "Winter Blooms” and is creatively performed by the ensemble of actors using object theater and physical theater.

The production will be performed in English with Hebrew subtitles and features a live band.

Please note: the show contains themes of war, loss and grief. Recommended age 12+.

עם מוסיקה ומילים מאת דאנקן שייק וסטיבן סאטר ("אביב מתעורר"), ומחזה מאת סאטר וג׳סי נלסון ("מלצרית"), המחזמר שהופק באוף־ברודווי ב־2019 עוסק במוטיבים של אבל ותקווה, ומספר על נערה במחסה בזמן מלחמה, שבורחת מהמציאות אל תוך העולם המופלא של לואיס קרול והספר הקלאסי "אליס בארץ הפלאות", אותו היא יודעת בעל פה.
